Piercing Aftercare
  • Do not touch your piercing unless cleaning it, be sure to wash your hands first.
  • The more you play with a fresh piercing, the longer it will take to heal. You also increase the risk of infection. Removing jewellery during the healing process should be avoided, avoid all tanning products, lotions, oils, perfumes, sand and tight-fitting clothing, which might irritate the new body piercing. Never soak a fresh piercing in dirty water, avoid swimming. Do not use alcohol, peroxide or any other solution not listed in your aftercare. Unless directed by a medical professional.
  • Eyebrow, Nostril, Septum, Ears, and Cartilage Piercings
  • Wash your hands before handling the jewellery. Never touch the jewellery unless you are cleaning it. You need to clean the piercing twice a day, using cooled boiled water and a pinch of table salt. Make sure that you rinse the piercing well, washing away any encrustation around the jewellery. You may need to repeat this a couple of times, during each clean. Never remove your jewellery during the healing process and avoid laying or putting any pressure on your healing piercing. The average healing time is around 8 weeks, cartilage piercings can take upto 3 months to heal completely.
  • Nipple and Naval Piercings
  • Wash hands, again as above use cooled boiled water and a pinch of salt. Rinse the piercing thoroughly, several times, twice a day. • Tongue Piercings
  • You will need to rinse your mouth with a mixture of mouthwash and water, twice a day morning and night and after all food and drinks. Avoid drinking alcohol during the healing process, this can increase the risk of an oral yeast infection. Swelling usually lasts for between 1-7 days post piercing, the tongue can double in size, you can use ice and anti-inflammitory medication to help reduce the swelling and discomfort. Do not remove the tongue bar during the healing process. Do not participate in oral sex during the healing process. Healing time is 4-6 weeks.
